Come to the dedication and exhibit of the restored S.S.Tioga pilothouse at Eagle River Museum. The steel package freighter Tioga was launched in Buffalo, NY in 1884. On November 26, 1919, she ran aground off Eagle River. Residents of the town rescued a section of the pilot house, and it was a gift shop on Roy and Vivian Taskila’s property for many years. The Taskila family donated it to KCHS in 2015, and the society moved it and restored it outside the museum. Prior to the dedication, a panel will discuss its remarkable history.
