Dr. Sarah Fayen Scarlett, Phd MTU Associate Professor of History
Historic buildings reveal much about people’s unrecorded daily routines, via the houses, barns &
townscapes we continue to use and see. Join us for an introduction to ongoing fieldwork revealing the history of brewing in Eagle River and the transformation of Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor from frontier port towns to 20th century vacation resorts. Scarlett’s projects, undertaken with community members and students, will be highlighted on tours of the Keweenaw when the Vernacular Architecture Forum’s annual conference comes here in 2024.
