The Miner's Home

The Miner's Home

Keweenaw County Historical Society MEMBERSHIP offers opportunities to stay in an historic Keweenaw County building.

Step back in time and discover where the term "homey" came from.
Except for a few minor alterations to provide modern amenities, this house is a perfect example of an early industrial age workingman's home. A stay in the Miner's Home is the next best thing to a time machine to experience our local history.

Central is a true ghost town centrally located (get it?) in the Keweenaw, so you are close to everything the peninsula has to offer. There are foot trails and logging roads to help explore the site, or wander off to other sites and towns.
